Near-field hyper-spectral imaging of resonant Mie modes in a dielectric island

All-dielectric sub-micrometric particles have been successfully exploited for light management in a plethora of applications at visible and near-infrared frequencies. However, the investigation intricacies Mie resonances sub-wavelength scale has hampered by limitations conventional near-field methods. In this paper, we address spatial spectral mapping multipolar modes Si island hyper-spectral imaging. The simultaneous detection several resonant allows us to clarify role substrate incidence angle impinging light, highlighting splitting quadrupolar mode resulting different features field intensity. We explore theoretically experimentally such features. Details as small 200 nm can be detected agree with simulations based on finite difference time domain method. Our results are relevant imaging dielectric structures, comprehension antennas, beam steering, coupling emitters. analysis suggests novel approach control absorption single emitter framework surface enhanced or stimulated emission applications.
